The incident occurred early morning on October 30 and left one man dead and another injured on the Lad Pla Khao overpass in Bangkok’s Bang Khen district. The incident occurred at approximately 05:50 when a six-wheeled truck collided with a stationary delivery truck, which had been parked due to a flat tyre, on the inbound side of Ram Inthra Road.

Police Lieutenant Tosaporn Rungjang of the Bang Khen Police Station was called to the scene, along with other local authorities and volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation. Upon arrival, responders found the scene on the two-lane overpass. A four-wheeled Isuzu truck, registered in Bangkok, had been struck from behind by a six-wheeled Hino truck from Nonthaburi. Tragically, the impact left Mr. Prasertsilp Phoobunkhong, 49, the driver of the Isuzu truck, trapped beneath the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries.

Ms. Nonglak Klinjai, 51, the wife of the deceased, recounted the events leading up to the collision. She stated that her husband was en route to deliver a package in Pathum Thani when a rear tyre blew out on the overpass. He pulled over to change the tyre while she stood behind the vehicle, signaling with her phone light to alert oncoming traffic to switch lanes. However, a speeding six-wheeled truck approached and crashed into the rear of the stationary truck, causing Mr. Prasertsilp to be fatally struck and trapped under the vehicle.

The driver of the six-wheeled truck, Mr. Suwit Kuntayos, 33, stated that he was transporting equipment from Ram Inthra 109 when the collision occurred. He explained that he had not seen the phone light signal, leading him to collide with the parked vehicle as he attempted to cross the overpass.

Authorities are conducting a full investigation into the accident, and reviewing CCTV from near the scene, The body of Mr. Prasertsilp has been transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy.

We see this situation quite often on the roads. Many drivers think moving the vehicle to a better location, is not a good idea...they prefer to change the wheel at the site and then this happens....just basic stuff as not understanding consequence!
