Help needed - I am not nomad but visit Thailand often

Hi all, I just entered Thailand but have been given a warning that I cannot come back in without a DTV visa. Their reasoning...  I have entered too many times and they need to be careful of people overstaying to work.  

This was unexpected. I have lived in Thailand for years prior and currently only come back in short stints to visit. I was able to provide evidence that I am legally working and living in Singapore with appropriate documentation. I only intended to stay for 4 days! I understood a DTV visa is for people who are "nomads".

Is this correct and others are experiencing similar issues? Any suggestions?

Have no idea why the immigration officer would have even suggested a DTV.

What is the typical trips to Thailand in say one year period.

Length of stay.

Time between visits etc.

You should be able to do multiple entries visa exempt. 

Why did you even mention employment in Singapore

I have done multiple shorts trips across the year. Maybe between 7-10 Typical stay is between 3-14 days. 

 

I told them about my employment because they said I am looking to come here to find work, so I had to explain no, I am here a few days to visit friends. I work and live in Singapore.

Its because you lived in thailand in the past, so they are wary on why you come so much now. Its a bit overkill imo but not our call. I would take a break for for 6 months, then keep your visits short and spread out in the future.
