Went to district office and could only get kr2. They said once it's gone it's gone and they will not issue another.

Yes.

 

If you have a copy of the original marriage certificate the amphur might stamp it  'Certified'

 

Edit to add.. originally you were each issued a cert. Have you lost both or is the other unavailable.

Never been in that position, may depend on Immi. Office but would have thought KR2 plus certified copy  of original cert, if available would be ok. Suggest ask IO in advance.

Really ?? I only recall ever getting one.

 

This thread has more details.. It seems you might be able to get 'stamped copies'  from the Amphur office at which you registered your marriage.

Both parties to the marriage are each given a formal marriage certificate.

We lost ours several years ago, (don't ask me how!) But we've done repeated marriage extensions since then without any problem using scanned copies plus the usual Kor Por 2.

 

We also still  have the official translation signed and stamped by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. That's probably as good as, but we've never used it.
