Went to district office and could only get kr2. They said once it's gone it's gone and they will not issue another.

Is that it?

Yes.

If you have a copy of the original marriage certificate the amphur might stamp it  'Certified'

Edit to add.. originally you were each issued a cert. Have you lost both or is the other unavailable.

Never been in that position, may depend on Immi. Office but would have thought KR2 plus certified copy  of original cert, if available would be ok. Suggest ask IO in advance.

Really ?? I only recall ever getting one.

This thread has more details.. It seems you might be able to get 'stamped copies'  from the Amphur office at which you registered your marriage.

Both parties to the marriage are each given a formal marriage certificate.

We lost ours several years ago, (don't ask me how!) But we've done repeated marriage extensions since then without any problem using scanned copies plus the usual Kor Por 2.

We also still  have the official translation signed and stamped by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. That's probably as good as, but we've never used it.

If you hit a brick wall, see if you can change to retirement extension of stay - it's legal to do. Plan NOW!

( Less RENEW paperwork AFTER the 1st extension issued and usually done in 1 day, no home visit - ALL DEPENDING on LOCAL IO POLICY.)

IMPORTANT:

You BOTH must GO  to immigration and SHE MUST AGREE for you to change to a retirement extension ... IF you are OVER 50, and have 800,000bt in the bank or PROOF of monthly income from abroad, you should be able to do.
