What are Pattaya councillors playing at? Week after week Pattaya traffic grinds to a halt due to some organised event. Today, because there were no Baht buses or passenger vans passing his school because they were catering to the Firework event I suppose, my grandson got home only due to the kindness of a friend's parent. Citizens of Pattaya and adjacent areas must be fed up with the continuous disruption to traffic because of these events. Just this week traffic was ground to a halt for ages because of a musical event held outside Nong Nook Gardens, blocking a main road. These events appear to be happening week after week. Give it a rest and think of the residents of the city.

Did the councilors mandate that baht buses, etc., were not to service the pupils of that school or was that a decision of the bus owners?   Perhaps the school should have warned parents and pupils of the possible inconvenience or maybe the parents should pay attention and be aware of events such as these and make the necessary arrangements for the proper care of their children?

At least the police continue to reaffirm that there is no prostitution at all in Pattaya. Cause for more celebrations and road closures!

It's a "world class tourist resort", that's what they're playing at.

"Family oriented holiday location".

Fair comment on the buses. But I doubt the school or parents would have been informed or even aware that its pupils would be affected, being outside Pattaya.

You really think this issue is only in Pattaya, or even Thailand?

Exactly. Just up the road ......

The 2025 Bangsaen Grand Prix is scheduled to take place from July 2–6, 2025 at the Bangsaen Street Circuit in Ban Bang Saen.

The fireworks festival Pattaya is basically Fri and Sat.

Think you missed the point of my comment.
In Western "civilized" countries, traffic also turns into a complete mess when major events happen

Traffic total nightmare today, Saturday, 1400 to 1700, and yesterday pm. 3rd road chockers Thappraya to Klang. Klang stuffed Beach rd to Sukhumvit. Jomtien Beach Rd coach mayhem up the Na end. Standstill. Where's the Park and Ride scheme I proposed last year? Are they reading my posts even? Sheesh!

I've seen many clips of what is clearly a spectacular event.  It's impressive such a town can manage to arrange what they do.  Anyone living there surely stays at home for a couple of days (as I used to), visitors will surely know about the massive traffic jams and toilet queues.  I wouldn't go near it as I've already seen fireworks, but I do like the effort they put into these things.

Well done Pattaya, I hope you've all f'd off by next weekend as I'll be there.

Sure. If you can stay at home to avoid the mayhem. But if you have to go about your business it's a nightmare.

No they haven't affirmed or reaffirmed this.

Precisely, the only place where this is mentioned ad nauseam is on this forum.
