Finnish Man Arrested for 10-Year Overstay in Thailand
That's not how it works. You will be arrested, and put in a horrific prison at IDC in Bangkok, and you will be held there until you can pay for your own ticket to your home country, or get some friends or family members to do it for you. Some overstayers have stayed in this prison for years. Trust me, that is something you'll never forget, and do not want to experience. -

Construction Worker Dies After Motorcycle Falls Into Canal in Nakhon Nayok
Picture from responders. A 42-year-old construction worker died after his motorcycle skidded off the road and into a canal in Nakhon Nayok on December 6. The incident occurred at approximately 14:00, in the Wang Krachom Subdistrict of Mueang District. Despite attempts by emergency responders to resuscitate him, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim, identified as Phithak, originally from Udon Thani, was riding his motorcycle when it veered off the road and into the canal. A local resident, 65-year-old Bunta Homphom, witnessed the crash. She recalled hearing a loud noise and saw Phithak’s motorcycle slowly slide off the road. He then asked for help to lift the bike out of the canal. Bunta advised him to wash off the mud before attempting to move the vehicle, but soon noticed that Phithak appeared unsteady and possibly intoxicated, stumbling as he walked. Phithak spent around 15 to 20 minutes in the canal, trying to wash himself off. Concerned, Bunta again approached him and saw him struggling in the water, desperately trying to stay afloat. She immediately called for help, and bystanders managed to pull him from the water. However, Phithak had already lost consciousness and was unresponsive. Rescuers arrived and attempted CPR for more than 30 minutes, but their efforts were unsuccessful. A Honda motorcycle, which had been covered in mud, was found nearby, having fallen into the canal along with Phithak initially. It was later confirmed that he was a construction worker who often worked in the area. Phithak’s family revealed that he had a history of epilepsy and had been hospitalised for the condition in the past. Authorities have sent his body for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. -- 2024-12-07 -

Bad experience teaching in Thailand
Once you have the trust of the kids it becomes easier to motivate them into wanting to learn from you. I am not a teacher, but get along with kids because I engage them in conversation in things they are interested in. Some are surprised that I even listen to what they have to say. Don't give up. It may take awhile, but there is always some place you will fit in. -

Thailand Eyes Direct Flights from US Amid Growing Tourist Demand
The upgrade to Category 1 is what matters here. Category 1: • Indicates that the country’s aviation authority meets ICAO standards for safety oversight. • Airlines from Category 1 countries can initiate new service to the U.S. and maintain existing operations without additional restrictions. • A Category 1 rating demonstrates that the aviation authority effectively regulates safety, including air traffic control, pilot certification, aircraft maintenance, and operational procedures. -

71-Year-Old Man Crashes Into Teen Girl, Killing Her; Police Discover 400 Meth Pills in Car
Picture from responders. A 71-year-old driver struck and killed a 16-year-old girl in a tragic car accident, with police later discovering 400 methamphetamine pills hidden in his vehicle. The accident occurred at 17:00 on December 6, on the Udon Thani-Ban Chiang Yuen road near Ban Lueam Bridge, Ban Lueam Subdistrict, Mueang District, Udon Thani. Police Sub-Lieutenant Prem Triamtua, an investigator from the Udon Thani Police Station, responded to the incident alongside medical personnel and rescue teams from the Udon Thani Promotion Foundation. At the scene, authorities found a white Ford Fiesta, license plate from Udon Thani, with front-end damage parked on the bridge. Tragically, 16-year-old Patcharin, a resident of Chiang Pheng Subdistrict, was found dead at the base of the bridge. Her friend, 17-year-old Ananta, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Udon Thani Central Hospital for emergency treatment. According to witnesses, the two teenagers were traveling to the Thung Si Mueang Festival when the crash occurred. The vehicle reportedly struck their motorcycle, leading to the fatality. While examining the car, police were stunned to discover approximately 400 methamphetamine pills, stored in blue and pink packets, under the driver’s seat. Investigators immediately detained the driver for further questioning. The driver, identified as Chanyut, a 71-year-old resident of Ban Na Sai Village, claimed the crash occurred as he was slowing down to cross the intersection. He alleged that the motorbike was speeding, resulting in the collision. Tearfully apologising to the victims’ families, he insisted the crash was unintentional. Regarding the drugs found in his car, Chanyut denied any knowledge, claiming he had no idea how they ended up there. “If they were mine, I would’ve fled already,” he added. Police have detained Chanyut for further investigation and will expand their probe into the source of the drugs. -- 2024-12-07
