At approximately 16:30 on December 16, officers from Mueang Phitsanulok Police Station were notified of a fatal collision involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck on Chumchon Bueng Phra – Wang Nam Sai Road, Moo 4, Bueng Phra Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phitsanulok Province. Police, along with medical personnel from Buddhachinaraj Hospital and rescue workers from Prasat Boonsathan Foundation, promptly arrived at the scene.

Upon inspection, a black-gray Honda Sonic 125cc motorcycle, license plate from Bangkok, was found at the site. Nearby, the lifeless body of a male was discovered. The victim, identified as Mr. Amarin Numun, 49, a resident of Bueng Phra Subdistrict, had suffered severe head injuries, a fractured right leg, and a broken left arm. Mr. Amarin, who was a volunteer for the local Village Protection Unit (Or Bor Por), worked as a freelance painter.

Adjacent to the motorcycle, authorities found a Toyota Vigo pickup truck equipped with a steel cage, license plate from Kamphaeng Phet. The truck’s right-side mirror was shattered, the rear right tyre was flat, and bloodstains were visible along the vehicle’s side and steel frame. Mr. Somchai, the pickup driver, was present at the scene, waiting to provide his account to the police.

Mr. Somchai explained to the authorities that he was driving from Phitsanulok City towards Noen Maprang District to pick up mangoes. As he approached the location, he noticed the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. Moments later, the motorcycle collided with the right mirror and side of his truck, producing a loud impact. Mr. Somchai immediately stopped his vehicle to assess the situation and found the motorcyclist unresponsive. He then remained at the scene to surrender himself to the police.

Rescue workers transported the victim’s body to the forensic department at Buddhachinaraj Hospital for an autopsy.

Police are continuing to investigate the collision to determine further details and assess responsibility.
