"Flat Earther" finally admits the Earth isn't flat

In the old days of Copernicus, it was the Jesuit Order that backed him. If you know a little about those Jesuits, it is not hard to doubt that there is something fishy why they suddenly changed theit mind on the flat earth. Befor, you committed blasphemy if you denied the flat earth, Death was on you. Nowadays one might be called a traitor to the world for sustaining the flat earth theory?

People are easily influenced, look at religion, and are afraid to become paria's. The fact that flat earthers do not ridicule their opponents says in fact a lot. People with different ideas were always laughed at and even risked death.

Don't think for a minute that what you were told is the truth. No matter how much evidence there is aginst a moonlanding, people still believe it happened.

Yes, did it and you believe it then I have a bridge to sell to you.

Not to long ago this forum was dominated by the vaxxers and even though there is more and more solid prove that it is in fact a poison, many still believe it the jab and can't wait to get another death shot.

Ans about the cost, wow a whole 30,000$. Divide that by probably a full airplane and you have a cheap trip. Don't forget that the elite powers (who control the Artic) don't want you to talk about a flat earth while the UN prove it in their Avatar.

Or just go outside on a clear day and observe the sky as the earth rotates eastward and take note that the sun is stationary while the earth is spinning in circles.

You are absolutely correct about the historical and political context surrounding the switch to heliocentrism. It was politically and ideologically motivated, and "science" was subverted in order to achieve that goal. That's all. The pursuit of truth had nothing to do with it

Heliocentrism is a belief. A very deeply rooted one, too. In fact it is one of the first things a human learns after birth. Once a world view has been modelled on a belief, it becomes extremely difficult, I would say virtually impossible even, to break free from it and accept a challenge to it, regardless of how many absurdities and contradictions are presented (shoutout to @Tippaporn for helping me understand how fundamental this issue is).

 

There are several sources one can consult to learn about The Reformation, the Jesuits, Copernicus, paganism, sun-worshipping and the political endeavour to impose heliocentrism, however I will recommend the documentary Heliosorcery, which lays it all out clearly and factually.

Even though the FE chap who admitted to seeing the '24 hour Sun' and being wrong one could tell from his attitude that he isn't going to leave the FE membership just yet. Phrases like '...don't believe me...' and '...someone [a FLat Earther] might work it out...' or words to that effect. Be that as it may, I did read an article earlier this year that it had been suggested that Flat Earth be taught at infant school in the UK (as an altenative view) and I understan that it is being considered. There are Flat Earth books for kids so I guess that's what they have in mind.

Imo it's the growing mistrust in many so called science papers that are partly to blame.

 

The core issue is the refutation of the heliocentric model, which is as absurd as it is impossible.

 

Accepting heliocentrism as unequivocal truth merely because some phenomenons have not been officially explained under another model is fallacious.

The switch from religion to science (and heliocentrism is possibly the key event in this process) was a switch from one dogma to another. It comes as no surprise that the vast majority of those who defend heliocentrism, in the two currently active threads on the topic, also have an open aversion to religion, to the point where the mere mention of the Bible will cause an immediate shutdown.
