Whatever happened to the "Secrets Forum" from years ago...
Whatever happened to the "Secrets Forum" group that Larry used to run? I was a great forum, heaps of friendly banter, not like current content on some forums. You had to actually meet Larry in person in SECRETS in soi 7 in order to get promoted to LEVEL II that gave you access to the more "spicier" topics. This in turn stopped the people who were pretending they were in country from accessing the main forum topics and also served to weed out the bull$<deleted>ters..... -

Where can Thais get help against a scammer?
You heard it from me before because it is factual. The AOC, banks and police work together on this and, for the initial investigation, I don't believe that a warrant is necessary as the time delay would defeat the object of the exercise that is to try to reimburse people who have been scammed before the funds are transferred out of the mule bank account to a third party. Is there anything in place that stops me from blocking my Wife's account (just to use an example) ? It seems, if it was this easy, anyone could block anyone else's account and use this tool as revenge etc. Thus: How easy is this actually ? (not argumentative but genuinely interested ) Wife and I were scammed 2800 baht - I would have very much liked to have the recipient account frozen. -

Introduction to Personal Income Tax in Thailand
And more money for the Thai's. They don't care. The farang will pay, so it will be worth it. Once again, the farang will pay, so it will be worth it. Money Number One. No discouragement there. So many member come up with ideas as to why they will not do it, but miss the very obvious as to why they very well may do it, and that is, MONEY, and it's easy money for them, so why wouldn't they do it???? -

I Think I Might Have Screwed Up
In most cases, if the person is domestic, they want to destroy it. Security. However, they also realize that in the event that a person is outside the country or is travelling a lot they may need the old passport to get stamps copied. It actually makes sense when you consider that most people who get a passport are doing so for a holiday and not relocation. If you were living in Aus full-time, would you need your old passport?
