Newly declassified documents shed disturbing light on the infamous CIA mind control program known as MKUltra, exposing how Americans were unwittingly drugged and subjected to psychological and physical torture more than six decades ago. The revelations include over 1,200 pages of records detailing harrowing experiments that used sleep deprivation, electroshocks, and a method called "psychic driving" to reprogram human minds.

The program, which ran from 1953 to 1964, targeted a variety of subjects, including criminals, mental patients, drug addicts, Army personnel, and average citizens. Many were administered drugs, including LSD, without their consent. A staggering 144 projects were conducted, aimed at developing techniques and substances to manipulate human behavior during interrogations and force confessions through brainwashing and psychological torment.

One newly declassified document from 1956 reveals researchers sought to create "an anti-interrogation drug" capable of altering the human central nervous system and influencing behavior. A memo from the same period indicates that while the CIA considered testing on foreign nationals, it ultimately decided to continue "unwitting testing on American citizens."

Gangster James "Whitey" Bulger, a notorious crime boss, was among those experimented on in 1957 while imprisoned at the Atlanta Penitentiary.

Bulger described harrowing experiences during his time as a test subject under MKUltra:
"Total loss of appetite. Hallucinating. The room would change shape. Hours of paranoia and feeling violent," Bulger wrote. "We experienced horrible periods of living nightmares and even blood coming out of the walls. Guys turning to skeletons in front of me. I saw a camera change into the head of a dog. I felt like I was going insane."

The National Security Archive (NSA) called MKUltra a "terrifying" chapter in American history. In a statement, the NSA noted:
"The CIA conducted terrifying experiments using drugs, hypnosis, isolation, sensory deprivation, and other extreme techniques on human subjects, often US citizens, who frequently had no idea what was being done to them or that they were part of a CIA test."

The documents further reveal that prominent physicians and researchers, including Dr. Carl Pfeiffer of Emory University, were involved in conducting these experiments. Pfeiffer was approved to administer large doses of LSD-25 to "normal human volunteers" under the guise of developing anti-interrogation drugs.

The program’s goals were chillingly ambitious. A 1955 report listed 17 "materials and methods" in development, ranging from substances to induce illogical thinking to drugs designed to cause amnesia, physical paralysis, or alter personality structures. There were also attempts to create a "knockout pill" for covert drugging and substances that could produce a state of "pure euphoria" with no aftereffects.

In retrospect, the MKUltra experiments remain a deeply troubling reminder of the lengths to which government agencies can go in the pursuit of power. As the NSA stated, these revelations illuminate a dark period in the behavioral sciences, often likened to experiments conducted by Nazi doctors during World War II.

The newly surfaced documents provide an unsettling glimpse into a program that blurred ethical boundaries and left a legacy of trauma for its victims. For many, the release of these records serves as a stark warning about the dangers of unchecked authority and the violation of human rights.

The next four years are going to be very interesting.

The CIA also set up Lee Harvey Oswald as the fall guy for JFK's assassination.

The CIA is a an evil, immoral and corrupt organisation that has carried out its dirty tricks all over the world (and in the US) for the last 80 years.

I remember one of my kids having a fit about this years ago.

Apparently the existence of MK-Ultra became public knowledge way back in 1975-1976 during the Church Committee investigations.

I guess the Mail now has actual documents relating to it.

Apparently, the CIA is into all sorts of weird experiments.  Years ago, I used to date a girl whose father worked at the CIA in Virginia.  She used to tell me stories about "remote viewing."   I never took her seriously, as she was always taking about some weird stuff.  Anyway, as it turns out, there really was research into remote viewing, which has now been discontinued and declassified.

'They' want you to believe these things ended long ago.

But individual mind-control continues unabated, more sophisticated now.  Check it out on uncensored media channels.

"Conspiracy theorists!" some will say.

Not sure who first coined the term.  But it was popularised by the CIA to discredit those who disbelieved the 'single-shot-from-behind' official narrative of the killing of JFK.  Which is now discredited by available photographic analysis of the multiple bullet wounds to the head.  Despite doctoring of the photos.

And as regards mass-mind control, hands up those that still disbelieve in it.

Having followed the recent US presidential election, I'm convinced there is mass-mind control.......there can be no other explanation for the result.....5555

Though not the intent of the Fourm, this will become clickbait for the Moonbat Brigade, the conspiratorialists who think they are 'awake' and that their 'research' (aka, goal-seeking, confirmation bias) gives then a unique insight into the agency.

Well, MK Ultra was real, but long before the Church Commission of 1978. EVERYTHING changed after 1978, especially as the Cold War wound down a decade later.

Presentism has folks applying 2024 'morality' on to 1950s-1960s behavior. After WWII and through the major part of the arms race and the spread of communism, "liberties" were taken, just as a century or more earlier "liberties" were taken by Colonial/Imperial powers like the UK, Italy, France, the Netherlands, etc. All those folks responsible are dead and gone, but Colonialism doesn't elicit the same sort of conspiracy theories that clandestine and covert actions do.

I think if folks really knew how hamstrung and leashed the agency is today, not only would all this conspiracy nonsense disappear, folks would be surprised. The restrictions on agency actions are quite strong. Also, there is no such thing as "rogue operations". That's Hollywood B-fare. EVERY covert action results from a Presidential Finding. EIT? That was Bush. So few career officers, save for Jose Rodriquez, wanted to get involved that contractors were hired to perform these "enhanced interrogation techniques".

Even going back to the Bay of Pigs, the agency was tasked with coming up with options for Eisenhower. Options tend to run a spectrum, from plausible to bizarre and unlikely to succeed. Once presented, the President chooses which option. Eisenhower chose the Bay of Pigs, and Kennedy inherited it. In the 1980s, the White House under Reagan, driven by Ollie North, constructed Iran-Contra. The agency had some part, but it was secondary to Col North. Reagan was kind of a basket case already back then, so North had lots of power and authority.

The agency comes under the Executive Branch. They do two things:  tell POTUS what he should know, not what he wants to know. They also respond to POTUS' request for action, and give him options. POTUS then chooses, and signs a Finding.

Sorry if reality disappoints. I guess those needing conspiracy can watch some B-fare movies for their fix and faux outrage.
