I wonder how many of his voters did.

Another big part of his lying campaign message was that he was going to be a peace president.

That will be news to the people of Panama, Greenland, and Denmark.

In fact he basically declared war on Panama in his inauguration.

Worse: He has basically declared economic war on the rest of the world, including allied nations. By the end of his term, the US will have no (democratic)friends left.

 

A while ago, a former president called a certain date in US history as "A day that will live in infamy". Jan 20 will qualify for such an expression once more.

Yeah it's weird.

Western sanctions have isolated Russia so that they are degraded to turn to North Korea and Iran for help.

Trump is isolating America all by himself.

The world could hope to call his first term as a fluke.

Now it's fair for the world to say Trump is what America is.

Will America ever recover from the damage?

Yeah most of his voters couldn't locate Ukraine or even Russia on a map to save their lives. They're so clueless that they think Trump can or will lower food prices by taking actions that will do the exact opposite.

But personally I do care very much about that war and I think it's outcome is incredibly important internationally.

It will take a few weeks/months, but the outcome is inevitable. Ukraine will give up some land in the east and promise to stay neutral. Possible EU membership, but not NATO. Russia will pull back and offer guarantees of sovereignty.

 

Only other option is for Europe to keep funding the war and fight to the last Ukranian. They are NOT going to get involved directly.  Ukranian blood and European treasure will continue to be wasted.

I'm sorry to hear that, (out of interest, where was that?),  but your comment does make it harder to understand why you should be brutal, callous and oblivious to the suffering of the people in Ukraine.

Trump is the ultimate panderer and many of us know he will say anything to get a vote, the level of his sincerity is almost non-existent, and his ability to follow through on policy is minimal, so this is not surprising on any level.
