Had to hang out for a delivery today ..

... took the CheeseCake out, and put the Whole Wheat Bread in the oven.  House smell great, another 10 ish minutes, and fresh hot bread 👨‍🍳

Not cooking anything, except my morning egg vs eggs, since picking at 'prepped' food, that's always in the fridge, for my brekkie.

Always have a stewed something, so using that up.  Today it was beef, think Kha Moo flavor, but beef, and handy for a quick dish, w/noodle or rice, and alone, or as sandwich.   I made a Chicken JP curry the other day, that always goes fast.   Wife always makes too much, hence still eating beef she made last week.  Too much bone broth in other containers, as I don't eat.  That will take her a while to polish off.

Then there's what comes out of the garden, almost impossible to eat it all.  Always roasted butter nut squash, papaya & banana, which I ate with my egg & beef.   All 3 not on the high end of glycemic index.  Red skinned bananas being the best and hard to pass up.

We still have CheeseCake from last week, as 12 slices takes a while to eat.  Got so much prepped, that I forgot about, that I cooked Salmon yesterday, just to cook it, as taken out of freezer the day before.   Maybe Salmon & Fettucine Alfredo, in a salad or sandwich, undecided.   Depending on mood and what snacking on later 🙄

Finding something to munch on is never a problem, although, that is a problem.   Amazing I'm not 100 kgs.

Have to tell the wife ... STOP COOKING,  a week ahead of time, that we're going O&A, so we can polish stuff off.

What's cooking?

I'll have to ask.

Should be the usual full English as she tries to encourage a coronary asap.

I did cottage pie yesterday

250g minced pork from lotus fresh 35bht, 2x large potatoes from the local market 20bht. Less than 30 mins to peel, boil, fry with gravy powder, and another 10 mins to brown in the oven. Under 60bht to make 4 portions.

All this talk of beans on other thread, so wife whipped up a batch.

White beans (Makro, 500gr @ 50 baht) w/ just a sauce made, w/ onions, red pepper & Bratwurst added.  I would add some tomatoes & Cayenne pepper, but she beat me to the stove.  Still tasty.

One of those YT short recipes, little honey on baking tray, some cinnamon, sliced apple, bit more honey, top with puff pastry.  15 mins later, flip, dust with sugar & munch.

OK, though just as easy to make apple turnovers, and less clean up.  Just something different ...

Available, silly priced, when non Chickpea pasta only cost 70 baht for 500gr of @ Makro (no S&H)

Sadly, local Makro hasn't stocked 800gr bag in a while, and don't think they will, since 2kg is more profitable 🤬

Wife made good use of the remaining half, she stopped me from grinding up. And a fine job she did. Big 'ol vat of 'slow cooked beef stew' thingy ... tasty and melt in you mouth 👍 👍

I've run out of bacon, black pud & white pud, so something slightly different today.

Chorizo sausages, hash browns & beans for late brekkie today.

First time I've had these Chorizo sausages and they are superb!

Stir fry veggies, which we always have in the fridge, along with some kind of stew / slow cooked meat. Don't want y'all all the think all we eat is eggs, animal protein & wraps.

Far from any strict carnivore or keto diet. No way we could stick to those. But don't stray too far or too long from, as healthy eating as possible.

Cooking ... not yet. Just a little inspiration for some to play butcher. Picked up a nice Tenderloin from Makro (AU Harvey brand), and got 6 nice 200gr +/- hockey pucks. Better & cheaper than anything you'll get prepackaged or served up at a restaurant.

Very little waste <100gr, and end pieces for whatever, mini steaks for brekkie, or cheesesteak sandwich. I cook in beef tallow, to introduce some fat and more flavor.

Some (not all) of this dry cured bacon on crusty bread (with HP brown sauce) accompanied by a can of Tapper (as it is past midday and it is Sunday).

Bacon? What are you, Canadian?

I resent that comment! That is almost as bad as calling me American.....

Happy to be the Guinea pig. Do NOT buy FZ Snow Beef (fake / injected) @ Makro. Labelled 'injection', so not hiding the fact. Just not Snow Beef from JP, and obvious from the price.

image.png

Sadly, results were as I expected, way too much fat, and lacked beef flavor. Have 2 more, and think I'll grind them, should render out most of the fat, and use for Taco maybe.

I fancied a quick snack last night when passing a 7/11 and rather than a toastie, thought I would give the below a try. Hadn't even noticed it before. It was quite ok and was 39 baht if I recall correctly. Mildly curried chicken in roti. Don't often snack from 7/11 but I'd probably have this again if peckish. Would be nice with a cold beer.

S&B curry yesterday, and got 3 seasoning cubes left, so 3 more months to go, finally.

Made some Black Currant jelly and roasted Cashews for snacking, and Nut Butter.

Well, that didn't work, grinding up, as I went a bit long, or it just wouldn't grind like normal, and more like a paste. Which the fat didn't render out as hoped.

Really is some flavorless crap. Using as filler for the dog's me, so a bit of added protein for her.
