Body of Foetus Found in Rubbish Bin Near Factory in Kanchanaburi

Authorities in Kanchanaburi are searching for the person responsible for abandoning the body of foetus, a boy, in a rubbish bin near a factory dormitory in Tha Maka district.

 

Police from Tha Ruea Police Station were alerted by local residents on the evening of 7 February after the body of a foetus, estimated to be 15-16 weeks gestation, was discovered in a bin in Phra Thaen subdistrict, near workers’ accommodation.

 

Upon arrival, officers found several blue rubbish bins lined up in the area. One of them contained the infant’s body, with the umbilical cord still attached. Police coordinated with the Khun Rattanawut Foundation and an on-duty doctor from Makarak Hospital to examine the scene.

 

The body has been sent to the forensic centre in Ratchaburi for an autopsy. Authorities are now working to identify the individual who abandoned the infant, particularly the mother.
