This girl who recently was in the buddha tattoo debate appeared on YouTube and I recognized her so I watched a little.

You come across this from time to time in Thailand, a young person with an apparent lack of identity shills to the Thais in order to gain acceptance. On the surface level it seems to go over well with the Thai public and gets views so they make money from foreign and Thai audiences. Not sure how this works in real life though, feels like pandering or shilling to me and is very hard to watch. I wonder if this is what got her in hot water with the tattoo.

Ok let's say gets the passport and becomes "Thai". Will she really be accepted? Pandering for likes on social media is not real life and Thais are very protective of their culture and famously insular as has been documented since forever. Have all the passport you want but the average Thai on the street will call her Farang and speak to here in English and flag her down for taxi rides. Having the passport would make this very real humiliation.

What this really outlines to me is the pathetic state of the western nations today. There has been a multi decade campaign to undermine national identity in white countries. An entire generation of people have been raised to feel guilt for being European and shame for their heritage. What this woman is doing shows it has been successful and now an English girl is confused enough to believe she can be Thai merely because of what government documents she has.
