Attorney General Pam Bondi remains steadfast, refusing to release additional files on Jeffrey Epstein, despite comments from President Donald Trump suggesting otherwise.

 

Bondi, at a press conference on Tuesday, affirmed that a recent memo adequately addressed the issue, nixing further disclosure for now.

 

The President supported Bondi at the White House, acknowledging her handling of the Epstein case while endorsing calls for more transparency. Trump mentioned the importance of credibility and stated, “The attorney general has handled that very well,” aligning his stance with Bondi's current position.

 

Bondi’s remarks came during a Drug Enforcement Agency event, spotlighting recent methamphetamine seizures, with a significant 64,000 pounds confiscated since January. Despite the emphasis on tackling drug crimes, media attention fixated on the Epstein controversy.

 

Sources indicate that Bondi’s department is aiming to pivot focus onto other pressing issues like drug enforcement, potentially mitigating backlash among Trump’s supporters. The strategy involves positioning Bondi prominently in discussions unrelated to Epstein.

 

At the event, Bondi sidestepped questions regarding her ties with FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino. Instead, she emphasised teamwork in achieving Trump administration goals, underlining her commitment to the role as long as Trump desires.

 

In response to questions about Deputy Director Bongino, Trump expressed a positive opinion but did not explain the reported tensions with Bondi. The situation suggests internal dynamics may continue without public clarification.

“Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats work,” he wrote, “don’t even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don’t want their support anymore!”

 

In doing so, Mr. Trump turned to an old playbook: attempting to reframe politically unfavorable issues as the work of Democrats and his political opponents.

 

But the discontent over the Trump administration’s handling of the so-called Epstein files has stemmed from the right, and Democrats merely joined the fray after seeing a splintering of Mr. Trump’s MAGA supporters, many of whom feel betrayed.

 

Far-right conspiracy theorist and podcaster Alex Jones called Trump’s handling of the Epstein situation “the biggest train wreck I’ve ever seen.”

"It’s not in character for you to be acting like this,” he said in a video reacting to Trump on Tuesday evening calling the case boring. “I support you, but we built the movement you rode in on. You’re not the movement. You just surfed in on it.”

 

His problem? That nothing-to-see-here approach doesn’t work for those who’ve learned from him they must not give up until the government’s deepest, darkest secrets are exposed.

 

Last week, the Justice Department and the FBI abruptly walked back the notion there’s an Epstein client list of elites who participated in the wealthy New York financier’s trafficking of underage girls. Trump quickly defended Attorney General Pam Bondi and chided a reporter for daring to ask about the documents.

 

“I don’t understand why the Jeffrey Epstein case would be of interest to anybody.” he said.

The post also highlights Mr. Trump’s longstanding belief that he can convince his followers of nearly anything without losing their support.

This crosses all party lines. They are ALL scumbags....It doesnt look good for Trump. If this ends him, the so be it. This whole situation is not just a storm in a teacup as he and his cronies are now trying to make out. I supported the platfrom he 'seemed' to have at the start...but this has crossed the line. Biden, the blithering idiot, the Clintons with their body count....Trump....this cuts across all lines.
