Sending Package To Thailand From Uk

Featured Replies

Hi Can anyone tell me what is the best way to send a package to Thailand from the UK, this is a present of a toy and don't want it to go missing so thought it would be better to send it by courier.

Weight ..... just under 2lb's

Size.......... 17inx12inx6in deep

I have tried fed.ex and DHL but have had no answer from them and it looks like they are only for bisness account holders.

any information would be helpful THANKS

Would Parcel Force be able to help you ?

I use Fed Ex a lot in Japan, i am not an account holder, try them again, or go to their website for UK offices, or DHL.

Maybe UK is different, but i would be surprised.

We have always used Swift Air by the Post office, the name has just been changed to Signed For

A ###### of a lot cheaper than DHL, Fedex or any of the other.

Sent a Mobile Phone and picture Cd to my Mother in Law in Uttaradit (only cost £8.00) and it took about 4 days. Have used them to send paperwork to the Embassey in Bangkok with out any hassles

Hope this helps

I have used Parcel Force very many times from Uk to Thailand, ranging from medical supplies, shoes, model kits and only one parcel was lost (definatly by the Thai postal service as Parcel Force tracking systen is v. good. Fed Ex & DHL cost an arm and a leg, DHL only deliver to Bangkok and then it is in the hands of Thai EMS. an extra 2 days transit time. To be fair, Thai EMS is good and have never had any trouble with it.

Hope this helps.

Just call the local Fedex office in the UK.

They will collect from private customers.

You pay cash to the driver.

Do Not use anything connected with the Postal Service,

too many packages go astray on the Thai side!!

you can say that again.. Anything thats posted with even a little value will soon disappear :o

Even stuff thats posted to thailand recorded/insured from the UK/USA soon gets "lost" :D Theivin little jippos

Avoid "pay at post" at all costs! It should be renamed to "as soon as you turn your back we will look through your package and if it has any value we will rob it", then people would realise what sort of service they are paying for. :D

From USA to LOS or from LOS to USA, I have used

DHL with success altho they are a bit expensive.

Avoid Govt mail like Postal Service from USA.

Thai side is not reliable or free of fast hands.

I sent 2 boxes from USA and they did finally

arrive 8 weeks later. Most of the items were

still in the boxes (they were opened, presumably

by Thai Customs for inspection) but they took

expensive sun glasses and some other items.

Left me my suits (big 6'2 guy suits too big for

a Thai) and books though.
