March 15, 20251 yr Hi, so everyone has seen the new Japanese style toilets toilets in the malls that heat the seat, you can shower your privates etc . I would like to install one in my home in France, and I was just wondering how the whole thing functions ? Is it hooked up to electricity for the menus on the side of WC, spray, wash, heat, dry etc ? So how complicated is it to install for an experienced plumber ? Are there any minus points in these models , things I should know beforehand ? Thanks for any info, was hoping someone ´on AN had one , and no, there is no room for a normal bidet in this toilet.

The minus point is that there are no toilets that hit effective, reliable, inexpensive. A good one is almost as expensive as a small car In my Japanese apartment I installed a Thai bum gun.

Having lived in Tokyo for almost 3 decades I can assure you that those are the more economic versions, a top end Toto will be in the range of ¥600,000 so going on for 3,700€, yes you can get cheaper models and probably the top ones are not even sold in anything but 100v models. If your ever get chance to visit Narita airport there is a suite of top end toilets, supplied by Toto, on the way to the gates, these are state of the art and worth a visit even if you have no pressing need.
March 21, 20251 yr Actually Geberit supply a locally made version in France, its quite similar https://www.geberit.fr/produits-de-salle-de-bains/espace-wc/wc-lavants-geberit-aquaclean/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwnPS-BhBxEiwAZjMF0tw84lUzoGuvv6f-_l75CZuJlLO52lVMiJV12FVO9FJys4btLR663xoC9JAQAvD_BwE

There are a variety of different models most have the key features but the top ones have everything. That is not usually required in other markets. it is similar to comparing a top end Rolls Royce to a top end Cadillac the Rolls Royce is always better but you may prefer the Cadillac
