As the topic says Pets in Thailand

Featured Replies

I know Thais don't treat their pets as we do in the West; some people are ruthless. We have a member in our family who has 2 cats locked up in small cages for hours on end, and when they are allowed out of the cage, they get put on leashes tied up on poles. They have no freedom at all. I am not a cat person; I love small dogs, but when I complain about the treatment I get, I am told, "You are Farang, you know nothing." Are all Thais like that? I just wonder.

Don't know any Thais like that, or mistreat any animals.  The opposite mostly, and give soi / stray dogs free range and even feed them, if they behave themselves.

Also couldn't be around a person like that, family or not.

I am only around her for a few weeks every year, but none of my Thai family seems to care, apart from my wife.
