We are moving to Pattaya later this year and wondered what would be the best network and package for our needs. I don’t communicate much with telephone numbers direct, mainly using WhatsApp, or will also use what is the Thai equivalent. I would probably need between 5-10 Mb per month data. Any thoughts and recommendations would be appreciated.

Usually best to buy a 1 year sim from Lazada/Shopee, have a look, AIS is the best but depends on location

Piggy backing on this...

Do such sims work for Data Roaming and WiFi calling when overseas...

And... can our existing number be kept ?

If you have a 2 sim phone (which is standard here) then you keep the main sim with your preferred number, the second sim is one of these yearly or monthly deal sims. Usually data roaming abroad is an additional package, probably better to get another sim when you go to a foreign country

Yes they work for Data Roaming and WiFi Calling.

No, you cannot port your number to the 12 month SIM.

If you want to keep your number, you'll need to port it to a new SIM and then add the package that you want.

To add a 12 month pack, the cost is from 2200 baht. For that, with True or DTAC(2290 baht), you get 100 GB per month and some free calls.. With AIS(2200 baht) you get 50GB per month. No calls included. AIS has a 100GB option for 2750 baht.

If you want non-stop/unlimited data, it costs more.

AIS is the best for network coverage and speed in Pattaya.

GOMO is an off-shoot of AIS, but only available to Thai nationals, extremely cheap, very fast, calls and internet from only 99 baht for a year!

Agree. If they have a Thai partner, this is a good option. They have an unlimited data option. 259 baht for 30 days of unlimited up to 15 Mbps. As and when or auto renewal for 12 months.
