Doesn't matter who he is. He's not the only one that has realized that Ukraine has lost and it's currently in the death rattling stage.

I am truly terrified for the future of the EU. Not only because they will be hitching their wagon to the lost cause that is Zelensky with billions of Euro, but also because they have delusions of grandeur perhaps even greater than the British, and if they start any kind of war with Russia they could be annihilated. As indeed we all could be then.

 

And judging by not just the words of Macron, but what he is practically proposing, Starmer too btw, and potentially Merz soon too, they really are blind to the consequences their ego trips could unleash.

 

Never mind that economically German car makers have missed the e-mobility conversion and may go the way of Nissan or Saab. Energy prices will remain exorbitantly high. One really feels bad for Europe.

I think Zelensky is stalling as he knows Putin's goal is not peace, but complete control of all of Ukraine and more but he needs time to transition away from now fascist pro Putin USA towards Europe. Ukraine is not going to surrender.

There's an element of that but fundamentally these are families, good people, they just deserve to be led better. There is not a single German, French or Spanish government that has acted truly in the best interest of their own country. It's bizarre.
