No I’m applying here , the agency has  just said blubook with mother and daughters name is enough and they only need colour photo copy of my main 2 passport pages but my original birth certificate from me. All Thai documents have to be original

Then you should be fine, as long as the agency is right.

It's your proof of address (utility bill, Thai DL,  anything). However if the child has turned 16 then it must be proof of address in their name, not yours. Just renewed a 16 year old daughter's passport recently and that caught me out.

I just got a letter from HM Passport Office about missing docs from our application and it sounds like it's proof of address in thier name is needed:

Damn, that must be annoying. Really the VFS staff should have picked that up. How old is your daughter?

Just turned 3.

Yeah bit annoyed this wasn't spotted on application. Although maybe it's not the standard docs and they just want more in this specific instance?

Although the wording suggestions not:  Unfortunately you did not enclose all necessary supporting documents.

Thanks. Definitely for a child it was always your proof of address, maybe that changed, but when I initially applied for my daughter's renewal with my proof of address they did flag it and told me when they turn 16 it has to be their proof of address.

So you were either let down by VFS who, for all their past faults, were really helpful for me - flagging that issue and even photocopying a couple of blank pages of my daughter's Thai passport I had accidentally missed (and they spotted). In the old days they would have sent you out to the copy station but she just did it for me and didn't charge.

Or the fault is with HMPO in the UK which have had so many reported issues since they moved to Corby recently: lost applications, asking for missing documents that weren't missing, asking for original UK passports when we aren't supposed to send them, and cocking up my payment which should be impossible to cock up as they have a piece of paper with my credit card details and the amount they should deduct. Lots of threads about it on here.

It is probably worth calling them to straighten it out before you send anything. +44 300 330 0901. We sorted our their payment cock up pretty quickly over the phone.

Yeh I was told by the agent that only a colour photo copy of the 2 main pages on my UK passport was needed and that of the counter signatures passport.  Only the uk birth certificate and all Thai documents have to be original.

Makes sense really they anre  only needing proof of their address as they will be checking uk side for the fathers address in the UK, esp with someone who doesn’t reside in Thailand like myself

Gave them a call, as helpful as they were they could only see the the officer requires those docs and not offer any other help.
