In a shocking crime that has rocked the province of Suphan Buri, a photographer from a prominent television station has been arrested for fatally shooting a police officer at the home of his former partner, a local schoolteacher, during the evening of 12 April.

Police were called to a residence in Moo 1, Ban Nong Chik, Nong Bo subdistrict, Song Phi Nong district, following reports of gunfire and a fatality. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of Pol. Lt. Col. Thaksin 55, Deputy Inspector at Thung Khok Police Station, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and face.

The crime took place at the home of Ms. A, a primary school teacher and former partner of the alleged gunman, identified as Mr. B, a photographer working for a well-known national TV station.

According to police, Mr. B had previously issued a warning to Ms. A not to bring the officer to the house, citing personal grievances. Reports indicate that Mr. B had helped finance the property during their relationship and harboured strong feelings of jealousy toward the victim, believed to be a close friend of Ms. A.

Mr. B reportedly arrived at the residence, saw Pol. Lt. Col. Thaksin inside, and opened fire in a fit of rage. After committing the act, he calmly awaited the arrival of law enforcement and surrendered without resistance.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Watcharin Prasopdee, Provincial Police Commander of Suphan Buri, confirmed that the suspect has been taken into custody and is being held at Thung Khok Police Station for further questioning. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation, including gathering forensic evidence and interviewing witnesses, to determine the full motive behind the crime.

Preliminary findings suggest jealousy as the primary cause, though police are continuing to probe deeper into the suspect’s history and state of mind leading up to the murder. Legal proceedings are expected to follow once the investigation is complete.
