What's with the censorship of the emoji's?

I see that the emoji 'votes have been changed again.

It seems that we cannot post a vote.

 

When someone dies, I do not want to post a broken heart or a thumbs down.

Death is a sad event.

Some poor soul having their life savings stolen is a sad event.

Car written off, house burnt down, are they not sad?

Please consider bringing the useful emoji's back.

I agree but I found that the confused one saved having to make a convoluted post in response.

The sad one was used too often for the wrong reasons and the heartbroken one is a perfect replacement.

I don't see the difference between I agree and Thumbs up!

Everything that you describe is indeed sad situations.

But then, everybody knows that it is a sad situation, so no need to to try to show that you, yes you, find it sad. IT IS SAD. Useless emoticons...  Move on..

This is why the old system of showing who had responded with their emoji was shown was so much better.  You had to think twice before just hitting random emoji.

I’ve explained this multiple times, and this will be the last. When people can see who left a reaction emoji, it opens the door for retaliation—and yes, it happens, often aggressively. It quickly escalates into feuds, stalking, and other issues that create unnecessary drama. Then the moderators are left to deal with the fallout. After many years of experience on this board, it’s clear: visible emoji reactions cause nothing but trouble.
