The Philippines has been nominated for 10 prestigious categories in the 2025 World Travel Awards, showcasing its diverse tourism landscape. This recognition highlights the nation's broad appeal, from its natural wonders and cultural heritage to vibrant business hubs and luxury getaways.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) announced the nominations on April 21, with Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco expressing pride in the country's vast attractions. She noted that these nominations underscore the Philippines' growing prominence on the global tourism stage.

New nominees include Aurora in Central Luzon, nominated for Asia’s Leading Regional Nature Destination; San Fernando in Pampanga, for Asia’s Leading Cultural City Destination; and the Clark Freeport Zone, competing for Asia’s Leading Meetings and Conference Destination.

The Philippines also seeks recognition in established categories such as Asia’s Leading Beach Destination, Asia’s Leading Dive Destination, and Asia’s Leading Island Destination. Further nominations include Intramuros for Asia’s Leading Tourist Attraction, Boracay for Asia’s Leading Luxury Island Destination, Cebu for Asia’s Leading Wedding Destination, and the DOT itself for Asia’s Leading Tourist Board.

Frasco has encouraged both Filipinos and international travelers to back these nominations, emphasizing the importance of the awards in celebrating and sustaining the Philippines' tourism growth. Voting for the awards is open until August 31 through the World Travel Awards' official website.

Recognized globally, the World Travel Awards celebrate excellence in the tourism, travel, and hospitality industries, with winners to be announced during their Grand Final event. This year's nominations reflect the Philippines' continued efforts to bolster its tourism sector and invite global visitors to experience its rich offerings.
