I think ones as bad as the other...my Thai landlord of over 6 years is fantastic. One month deposit and let me move in 2 weeks early... anything needs doing phone him and he's there within 5 minutes. No complaints whatsoever. The flip side is, he's there on the dot at 5pm wanting his rent but after all it is his. Reduced my rent for 3 months during covid..gives New Years presents...really can't fault them

Sounds like you have a good one.

The exception.

I saw a few post about people needing to move out because of the earthquake in Bangkok, and the owner wont give back the deposit,

There's no way she owes 350k for that. Paint over it all, fix the curtain, duvet and pillows. And DEDUCT THE 32,000 THB Miss Ulraine or Russian boyfriend (the real tenant?) is owed. And NEVER anyone here should rent from this person again.  There needs to be an annonymous black list of these dodgy landlords (Thai and foreign). Tenants too if that makes some happy. Did the landlady not know the place was being lived in by a Ukrainian woman and not a Russian (who signed the lease)? Who was transferring rent money? Russian? Ukrainian? Story still has holes in it. Now that the 'authorities' have her, the bill will only increase of course.
