Cambodia’s most iconic heritage site, Angkor Archaeological Park, welcomed over 474,000 foreign tourists in the first four months of 2025—marking a 12.68% rise compared to the same period last year, according to Angkor Enterprise.

The influx of visitors generated $22.2 million in ticket revenue, up 11.5% year-on-year. April alone saw 76,279 international arrivals, bringing in nearly $3.5 million, further signalling the country’s ongoing tourism recovery.

Hun Dany, spokesperson for the Ministry of Tourism, credited the rebound to coordinated efforts between government agencies and the private sector. “This growth reflects our successful promotion of Cambodia’s tourism potential,” she said.

Chhay Sivlin, president of the Cambodia Association of Travel Agents, pointed to improved air connectivity, direct flights, and the rollout of automated ticketing systems as key factors in making visits to Angkor more accessible and appealing.

The updated ticketing system, introduced in January, offers a more streamlined experience for tourists and tour operators. Entry passes range from $37 for a one-day visit to $72 for a week-long pass.

Located in Siem Reap province, Angkor Park spans 401 square kilometres and boasts 91 temples built between the 9th and 13th centuries. It remains Cambodia’s top tourist draw and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992.

Last year, the park attracted just over a million international tourists, generating $47.8 million in revenue. With the current upward trend, officials hope to surpass that milestone in 2025.
