The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Thailand hosted a delegation from Spain’s National Police, led by Mr Jose Luis Gil Gil, a liaison officer with the Spanish counterterrorism unit.

The visit, aimed at fostering international cooperation and enhancing investigative capabilities, was marked by a formal reception headed by Pol Maj Gen Thakoon Nimsombun, Deputy Commissioner of the CIB.

The Spanish delegation’s primary purpose was to share expertise and experiences surrounding the I3 database management system, a crucial tool in Spain’s law enforcement infrastructure known for its effectiveness in tackling organised crime and terrorism.

The CIB expressed strong interest in the Spanish system and intends to integrate the insights gained from this exchange into its own operational development. The collaboration underscores Thailand’s commitment to improving its investigative tools through international partnerships.

In a statement, the CIB reaffirmed its dedication to professionalism, impartiality, and public service, highlighting that such international engagements play a key role in enhancing the bureau’s capabilities.
