What to do with a stray kitten?

Featured Replies

A stray kitten wandered into our yard and won't leave. It meows all the time. We already have two cats and don't want it. What is the responsible thing to do here? Are there animal shelters that take them? We are in Thung Khru in southern Bangkok.

Your two cats will decide whether they want it or not.

It simply wants a home.

God forbid! We went to some shelter - I think it is a torture chamber for cats. I won't share details. They are too gross.

The longest and truly responsible way is to pick it up, clean it, vaccinate, de-worm (must do it asap), and keep posting everywhere his/her cute pictures. Later will have to neuter it.

And yes, his meow is unbearable, I know.

Bag of 4 dropped in our yard 3 years ago.  I remember thinking the same. In the end we tried to feed them milk and tuna.  We were clueless and 2 died the first 2 nights.  The other  two survived and the wife never had cats. She fell in love with them.  One disappeared 2 months ago and surprised they lasted in the jungle that long.

Feed it and see what happens is my recommendation.  The other cats may kill it or it survives.

Give it to some Vietnams or Koreans

it's best to keep it,   feed it,   see how the other cats take to it,  they might accept it or they may not.   At least give it a chance ....it just wants a home and some love.

Somewhere online, I saw a meme about a straggly looking stray cat that roamed the neighborhood, pretending he was starving to death.  He had a real racket going.  Food from multiple houses.

As it turned out, he already had a family and a home. He just had a scam going, to get extra food.
