Dear Folks,

Here where I am there is slight haze.

Stars are now visible through the haze.

The light pollution is immense, due to proximity of the city.

It's warm, thankfully not hot, at all.

No rain, though, there will be rain this week.

The grass is growing, but not too fast that we need to cut it more than once per week.

The pollution level is quite low.

Also, in the future, I will update this Topic.

And, in the future, since I have recently been invited to China, by the gov there, I will post more updates.

If you are in China, or in Thailand, how do you find the weather.

Thank you.

Regards,

Gamma

Please Note:  Let's please, keep this Topic completely NON-controversial.  Thank you....!!!!

Well done, always taking unsolicited, needless chatter to even higher levels. I hate to imagine what it would be like if somebody actually asked for your opinion on something.

Thankfully that is unlikely to happen.

Here in Prasat sth Surin we received this afternoon in 45 minutes more rain than we have had since last October.

So the monsoon has at last begun here. For the last month before this we have received an occasional few drops, a light & brief shower 2 or 3 times, but not enough to give more than a few patches of brown earth a slight greenish look. A kind of aspirational lawn. Here are 3 photos from my library:  P1130936.jpeg.dd3ac67d7d7aecfc33df1bfa6ac9ad03.jpegP1130937.jpeg.79e7f09656c895cca6a130fbc2eda7c8.jpegP1130941.jpeg.f2772aa585e6efd2e5d2a16cb78d8bc7.jpeg

This may well be the most informative and interesting post you've made to date.

Yes.

And, the true beauty of it is that.....

a. Fairly innocuous

b. Non-controversial

c. Not inane, as usual

d. So many other beautiful reasons...

So, YES.

I will never post anything, other than the weather....and then....

I guess....

It might be difficult to complain about my Topics....

In the future.....

IF the weather is good, of course.

Impossible to please ALL the people.

However, if one can just please two people, in a Ménage à trois, then this might be sufficient....

This IS the life, here on TV....

Am I right???

Yes.

I love TV.....

Two points about the weather in Thailand. First off, don’t expect the locals to waste a single breath on discussing it in any detail. Unless it’s pissing down or there’s a flood swallowing motorbikes whole, the weather simply doesn’t register as a conversation topic. Temperature? No one cares unless it drops below 18° or cooks you alive at 40°. Anything in between is just background noise. And I agree with their approach, take note and learn from them. Second, for those desperate to obsess over every breeze and UV rating, there’s this magical invention called the AccuWeather app. It’ll gleefully vomit up every microscopic weather detail you could possibly want, hour by hour, day by day, until your eyes bleed. So no, we don’t need to discuss the humidity index over a bowl of noodles.

Speaking of the weather, whether you might choose to do so, or not....I will say....

I am extremely impressed by the quality and intelligence of young Chinese students.

Young Chinese students, up to the PhD level, are often very impressive.

SMART, for sure.

And, also, I have experienced MANY typhoons on the East Coast of Taiwan.

In fact, I was almost killed by a Super-Duper typhoon, just before I left Taiwan to come to Thailand.

Fortunately, I did not die.

But, I  almost died, due to the waves.....which were HUMONGOUS....

I am, of course, speaking NOT about the Typhoon, Morakot, but a BIGGER typhoon that hit use on the East Coast of Taiwan.

And, the dogs in the area were outside.

They just hunkered down in the weeds, and survived.

Taiwan dogs have a very high IQ, might I add....

Unlike some I think I know, on TV....of course.

I was there.

Such a beautiful typhoon.

But, I have seen many better ones.....

Note: Living on the coast, in Taiwan, was amazing, yet also harrowing, due to the weather conditions, and the constant earthquakes, which were not bad, most days.
