I know that although I still have to have the compulsory insurance on my motorbike even though I also take extra cover with another insurance company (second class) I have recently bought a new car that had first class insurance included, was wondering when I come to renew, will I still have to take the compulsory insurance too, as I read that it's not need needed if  you have first class insurance, I still think that it's ridiculous to have both on my bike, so just another question, In the unlikely event of an accident, could I use the government cover first & then use the other insurer if the government cover wasn't enough?

Thanks in advance

Compulsory is ....... compulsory, , without it you will not be able to renew the road tax.

Any other insurance you have is voluntary.

Compulsory does not cover vehicle damage.

As above you won't renew tax without valid CTP insurance

It's not expensive for scooters, a few hundred baht

Honda Zoomer (108cc) a Click, Scoopy (125cc), etc. Cheap

Price is calculated on engine size.

Yes annoying that my 155 cc scooter is double the cost of a 124 cc scooter. Why?

Call them and ask.
