Two female airport personnel at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 have been arrested for allegedly extorting money from a female Chinese national.

Col. Bing Jose, chief of airport police, revealed that the staff demanded ₱850,000 from the passenger, promising protection from deportation for her and her nephew. The negotiation led to a reduced demand of ₱400,000. However, the passenger reported the incident to the authorities, resulting in a police operation.

Both suspects have been apprehended, and charges are being prepared against them. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about corruption and security within airport operations.
