A man linked to a violent loan shark gang has been arrested by The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) after allegedly invading a debtor’s home, assaulting the victim and firing two gunshots into the residence before fleeing the scene.

The suspect, identified only as Mr. Sutthipong, was apprehended outside a house in Moo 13, Wat Sai subdistrict, Mueang Nakhon Sawan District. The arrest was carried out by officers from the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) of the CIB following a court-issued warrant.

The charges against Mr. Sutthipong are extensive and include: attempted murder, nighttime home invasion with use of force and a firearm, joint commission of a crime with multiple offenders, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and carrying a firearm in public without lawful authority or justifiable reason.

According to investigators, Mr. Sutthipong and accomplices entered the victim’s home and physically assaulted the resident, who sustained injuries. As the attackers fled, Mr. Sutthipong allegedly turned back and fired two shots into the house before escaping.

The victim later informed authorities that the motive likely stemmed from an outstanding debt after defaulting on a loan from the gang. Based on this testimony, police gathered sufficient evidence to issue arrest warrants for those involved.

After weeks of surveillance and investigation, authorities located Mr. Sutthipong’s hideout. Officers observed him in the vicinity of the targeted area and confirmed his identity before making the arrest. He was immediately taken into custody and handed over to Banphot Phisai Police Station in Nakhon Sawan for legal proceedings.

The successful operation was conducted under the direction of Police Lieutenant General Jiraphop Phuridej, Commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau, and supervised by Police Major General Wittaya Sriprasertphap, Commander of the CSD.

Authorities have confirmed that investigations into the broader network of the loan shark gang are ongoing.
