So I do like German breakfasts, cold cuts great bread etc.

That being said.

As a young man I used to do a lot of work in the UK, and was introduced to this wonder breakfast item 'Fried bread'

I'm pretty sure my arteries have suffered, but OMG, white bread, and fry it! Stuff to die for.

German cold cuts as much as I like it can't beat fried bread

Don't be ridiculous. Of course German cold cuts beat fried bread, and easily.

German breakfast is the best in the world, bar none, and the reasons are two-fold 1) Germans do bread better than any other nation in the world, even the baguette and croissant are originally German/Austrian 2) German cold cuts are by far the best in the world, nobody does sausages and cold cuts better than the Germans, that includes the French, Spanish  and Italians who have one or two honourable  entries such as Saucisson Sec, Serrano Ham and Parma Ham, but just as with bread, the sheer variety of cold cuts in Germany is astounding and of a quality other nations can only dream of.

The fried bread, baked beans, bacon and eggs from Britain is good, not saying it's not, but German breakfast is a cut above all others.

One thing on my list to buy when we move back home, besides a good coffeemaker, is a bread maker. My daughter makes some, had a little when I visited last year, and it was good.

We also have a breadmaker. Is very convenient and the result is satisfying/good.

You have to experience a bit, as the recipe given in the manuals might differ to the ingrediences you get here.

For Chiang Mai: Yok has a wide range of different needs. Imported ingriedences for bread-making are not really expensive, as you need only small amounts of them.

Bread making has to do with try and learn - learn and try. Good luck. And stick to it. It's woth it.
