BANGKOK – Thai authorities arrest four Myanmar nationals working as masseurs without permits, allegedly taking jobs from locals.

On 20th June, officers from Huai Khwang Police Station, led by Pol. Col. Prasopchok Iampinit and Pol. Lt. Chaya Waeluwanarak, along with the Department of Employment, apprehended four Myanmar nationals at Tongta Massage, Flat 2-4, Pracha Songkhro 36, Din Daeng, Bangkok.

The arrests were made for working without the proper permits, thus violating local labour laws meant to protect Thai jobs.

The operation followed a tip-off about the illegal employment at the massage parlour. Upon inspection, the four individuals were found waiting to serve customers.

Checks revealed they lacked the necessary work permits, breaching Section 8 of the Royal Decree on Alien Working Management B.E. 2560, with penalties under Section 101.

The individuals were charged and transferred to Huai Khwang police for legal proceedings.
