Two Chinese nationals were arrested following a police raid on a residence in the Ram Inthra area of Bangkok, which was being used as a covert illegal factory for manufacturing and repackaging e-cigarettes.

Acting on a tip-off, officers from the Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD), led by Pol. Col. Kraiwit Saentaweesuk and Pol. Lt. Col. Kittiphot Khongsungnoen, along with tactical units from the Special Operations Division, conducted the operation at a house located in Soi Panya-Ram Inthra, Bang Chan subdistrict, Khlong Sam Wa district.

At the scene, police found two Chinese nationals, Mr. Bin Chao, 35 and Mr. Yin Hai Bin, 44, seated outside a room where vaping devices were actively being assembled. Inside, five Myanmar workers were observed refilling used disposable vape cartridges with new e-liquid, preparing them for resale.

Authorities seized 3,200 finished e-cigarettes, a large quantity of refill liquid, and a full set of production equipment. The total value of the confiscated goods is estimated at approximately 1.5 million baht.

Investigations revealed that the operation involved reusing spent vape cartridges and devices, refilling them with e-liquid and repackaging them in boxes to appear as new products. These were then distributed for retail, targeting unsuspecting consumers.

The suspects have been charged under the law for offences relating to the illegal production and sale of electronic cigarettes. All individuals involved have been taken into custody pending further legal proceedings.

Police have reiterated warnings to the public against using or purchasing illicit vaping products, citing significant health risks and the dangers posed by unregulated and improperly handled materials.

Wait so don't buy dodgy vapes because of "significant health risks and the dangers posed by unregulated and improperly handled materials." so that means buy ones that aren't dodgy but are illegal. Clear as mud. As it vape shop as far as I know are still shut down but there is now a thriving black market on line. These morons couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery.

I buy online from Singapore, delivered by Thai Post. It's difficult to contain my laughter when the motorcycle Postie hands me a VAT invoice for 37 baht on my 3K baht delivery. :coffee1:

Why Singapore?

Because the online options in Thailand have ramped up the prices too much, have limited choices, and also don't currently stock my specific brand of refillable pods.

Yep. Prices have gone up for sure. Such is the nature of the black market. There's probably as much vaping going on now as there was before the "support tobacco industry" vaping shut down.

With all the peer-reviewed scientific studies reported in respected medical journals saying that while Vaping is less harmful than tobacco, it still eventually creates a condition called 'Popcorn Lungs,' which is definitely not healthy!

Many people turned to vaping to stop tobacco use, but then get addicted to vaping instead. It's a very easy transition. But the smoking habit isn't just about nicotine delivery. There is the 'Sighing Breath Response Mechanism'  (take a deep breath, hold for an extra second or two, then slowly exhale, as you do when taking that first drag on the cigarette or vape) that is just as entrenched as a habit, perhaps an even more difficult pattern to break.
By the way, we use that 'Sighing Breath Response Mechanism'  as a way to BREAK the habit... just without the cigarette or vape.

Why not stop altogether? It's been done before.

If anyone would like help stopping smoking or vaping, msg me. I can provide some guidance to make it easier.
