Skype has emailed to tell me that I have successfully reactivated my credit (£6+).

However, when I try to find a dial pad (or much else for that matter), the site just sends me round in circles.

I have Skype installed on my phone and laptop but have failed to gain access with either.

Can anyone help me please? Also, I'm aware that other forum members have complained about the "new" Skype/Microsoft Teams and I'm open to suggestions re using a different company.

Thanks.

Because you have to log in to a web page with your Skype log in and password - the old apps no longer work.

Something like this which was one of the links sent from MSN re the change.

https://login.live.com/login.srf?wa=wsignin1.0&rpsnv=175&ct=1751373997&rver=7.5.2156.0&wp=MBI_SSL&wreply=https%3A%2F%2Flw.skype.com%2Flogin%2Foauth%2Fproxy%3Fclient_id%3D572381%26redirect_uri%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fcalling.web.skype.com%2FAuth%2FPostHandler%26state%3Dc6774eaf-5e38-4e2c-90e9-cf43e32049b1&lc=1033&id=293290&mkt=en-US&psi=skype&lw=1&cobrandid=2befc4b5-19e3-46e8-8347-77317a16a5a5&client_flight=ReservedFlight33%2CReservedFlight67

Basically a Microsoft Account log in.

Open Teams app , than in upper left click on profile logo and a window will open with options. In the middle click on Skype dial pad.

No profile opens up via top left (assuming phone usage, rather than laptop). I can access "profile settings" via another route but no "dial-pad" option opens up.

Please clarify what the "profile logo" looks like and verify that you are talking about phone use rather than laptop.

Android phone. In upper left at the top is a round icon. Click on that.

That works for me on computer but not on phone app. Skype credit being run out on teams free is full of problems.

I still can use my existing credit to make calls by using Skype calling through weblink:

Would appreciate knowing how you obtained skype credit after the app closed down (May 2025?)

I didn't! I've had the credit for several months as I rarely use it.

Thanks to all respondents, but none of the suggestions work for me. Teams is cr*p!

I tried both my phone and laptop again and cannot see a dial pad, or my contacts, or do anything except use the voice (echo) test.

More details on how that works to a UK land line please!!??

So many people appear not to understand that Skype's main USP was calling to landlines and other corporate numbers where whassap and the rest don't go. Plus, I had skype numbers to receive calls - they just vaporised and again whatssap and co don't help.

many thanks for that link. I certainly cannot find any skype option in teams profile as mentioned by some posters.

Have you tied to log into a Microsoft account with your Skype name and password as previously suggested?

Since I did this successfully only 10 days ago  I respectfully suggest that you haven't?

I just tried this to no avail. I get into Microsoft using Skype details as you suggest but, no mention of Skype, dial pad, contacts .... nothing!

Try this link

https://calling.web.skype.com/

It takes you to a log in screen for your MSN Skype account - or should do. When I click on that link and provide my Skype log in details in takes me to my page showing credit and numbers called. This is on a pc not mobile.

If you cannot get in through there then there would appear to be a technical issue and you may have to go back to MSN to resolve.

Skype Teams is designed for B2B video conferencing and calls using VOIP and both parties must have the software installed. It does not facilitate calls to landlines or mobile phones that don't have Teams installed. The best replacement I've found is MyTello which is integrates with your phone contacts list, is extremely cost effective (cheaper than the old skype) and call quality so far has been perfect. As a typical example of cost I called my bank in UK, call duration was 18min 31sec and cost was 6.7 baht.

A little while back someone on here suggest Phone2. I paid for the lifetime membership and it's been meeting my needs thus far. It has a few annoying quirks like the voice output freezes if your phone goes to sleep (with the android phone app) but that can be managed.
