Thai military detains 18 Cambodian soldiers, ensuring humane treatment after clashes in Si Sa Ket's Sam Taet area

THAILAND - On 29th July, Wassana Nanuam, a military affairs journalist, reported on social media that Thai troops have detained 18 Cambodian soldiers following a border skirmish.

The incident occurred in Sam Taet, Si Sa Ket province, after Cambodian forces fired heavy weapons into Thai territory. In response, Thai special cavalry units struck back, leading to the Cambodian soldiers' surrender.

The detained soldiers include 1 Second Lieutenant, 2 Sergeants, 12 Corporals, 2 lance corporals, and 1 Private, all treated humanely with essentials like clothing, food, and medical care according to international military protocols. Among those affected, Corporal Mom Ridtee sustained gunshot wounds to his right hip and left arm and has undergone surgery in a Thai hospital, as reported by Siam Rath.

Cambodian soldiers were found deceased, and their bodies will be returned with full honours.

The Thai Army remains committed to upholding international human rights and humanitarian laws, as well as the Geneva Conventions' standards for both combatants and deceased soldiers.

Cambodian army seems very top heavy on the officer side.

I don't know what it is now, but years ago they has 4,000 generals.  The internet is show between 2,000 and 3,000.

Fair play though, that officers are at the front rather than in a war room directing ops

If you are going to pull someone up for spelling, then at least proof read your response!

Why so aggressive?

Do you know that both would make sense? Hard and heart?

Apparently you don't.
