Report Influencer Arrested in Suphan Buri Drug Bust

A prominent social media influencer, Ekachai, has been apprehended in a significant drug operation linked to a methamphetamine network in Suphan Buri. This operation, conducted by local police and the Region 7 investigative team, took place on August 6.

 

Under the guidance of Police Major General Wacharin Prasopdee and Police Colonel Peera Atsawapiboonphon, authorities arrested 41-year-old Ekachai, whose surname remains confidential, in the U Thong district of Suphan Buri province.

 

Ekachai was found with 65 methamphetamine pills, 305.5 grammes of crystal meth, two handguns, and several vehicles, including cars and motorbikes. He faces charges of illegal drug possession and carrying firearms in public without a licence.

 

Police Colonel Peera disclosed that Ekachai, known on Facebook as "Champ Tai Sichon," boasts hundreds of thousands of followers. Investigations suggest he is part of a drug network led by Prawit, also known as Kaeng Dan Chang, who was detained on July 18 along with two associates in Dan Chang district. Ekachai is alleged to have supplied firearms to Kaeng Dan Chang.

 

The arrest unfolded in U Thong district, where it emerged that Ekachai had acquired land to construct a house. As for the multiple vehicles discovered, Ekachai claimed they were pawned to him by friends. Authorities are now questioning him to broaden the investigation and pursue legal proceedings.
