August 10, 2025Aug 10 Popular Post Constructed the roof before ready for water works re-arrangement yesterday. This was the origional 8 year temporary setup. Cleaned out the tank from the years of aquifer iron sediment. No high visibility etc. here, just a rope looped with a few foot holes and a SS scrubber and 'in you go son'. All approved by the Safety Officer. Recharged the filters with magnesium and carbon. Those bags weigh 32 kg and 25 kg. Rocks go in first. Installed automatic backwashing (cause I keep forgetting to do it manually). Also a chlorine douser pump. One glass of Cl to a tank of water in that white container. That's the licenced and registered Tank Diver in his safety gear on the right. Next replaced all the under sink RO filters plus Big Blue sediment filter. Repositioned the filter before the tank and tank now feeds the house/yard. Before I was using the tank as a sort of settlement tank, then to the filters and pump. Finished at 2000hr just in time for a big rain event. Started topping up the pool to give it a treatment and the new water has turned that rusty colour. Oh well ...another Roundtuit Award coming up. 🙂

August 10, 2025Aug 10 Author First year traineeships and at smoko we had to get orders and buy at the local shop. It never changed: as well as rock cakes, pies, cream buns there were always randy tarts and foreskin rolls. Young pimply faced kid in a dust coat to shopkeeper: ' three pies, 4 cream buns, a randy tart and a foreskin roll.' Of course the shopkeeper heard the same at the start of every year with the new trainee intake.
