So you think the claim about Foxcon was a fairytale.

Yes it was a fairytale they told Trump, your almighty master.

You can google to find it is true, but IO know you won't do that because, it will look you in the face

You seem to be reading challenged.  I was the one accused of believing in fairy tales.  Please, contact all your previous teachers and scold them for failing you.

Had you been talking about all the achievements and winnings of Trump by any chance?

About 2 weeks ago this thread was flooded ny trumpists with "winning". As they are obviously loosing - but can't agree on facts of course - they flood the thread now with the words "Democrats implode".

As far as I can see they bring no facts, only blabla and blingbling to absorb what is really happening with the USA.

No allies anymore (maybe Putin?), debt is skyrocketing, the richest getting richer, the rest will have not enough to live but too much to die. Democracy buh-bye.

It's the beginning like russia once began with the oligarchs. Same same - NO difference.

Factory workers in the United States earn an average of $30.19 per hour (about $62,000 annually). In contrast, manufacturing workers in China earn an average of approximately $6.00 to $8.00 per hour, which totals roughly $11,000 to $16,000 USD annually.

How will American companies compete?

G AI doesn't agree with your $30 per hour. Maybe if highly skilled and unionized.

... "AI Overview

The average factory worker in the USA earns roughly $35,000 to $42,000 annually, which translates to about $17 to $21 per hour.

  • National Averages: The median salary is roughly $42,380 per year (about $21.45/hr). Federal data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics." ...

Above my pay grade, so I asked my good buddy AI.

AI forgets to mention tariffs are part of the equation.

High tariffs = chinese goods not as cheap anymore.

The US is the second largest manufacturer in the world, only behind China.

The US manufactures about half of what China manufactures, yet China as four times as many people.

The US produces ~17% of the world's manufacturing output, with ~4.2% of the global population.

China produces ~29% of the worlds manufacturing output, with ~20% of the global population.

Even Trump couldn’t deliver on his promise of his Trump T1 mobile phone being made in America.

Globalization is a one-way path

theyre all pinning their hopes on AI as manufacturing vanishes

So the US has about the same output as the EU, which is also 17% by MVA.

US exports are $3 trillion in goods and about $1 trillion in services. It exports a little more in goods and a littler less in services compared to the EU.

But the US still makes totally sh*te cars that handle like boats, rot like hell, and are full of crappy fake wood. You stick a man on the moon, but can't build a proper sports car.

By additive manufacturing and microfactories, tossing out the dated Henry Ford model, and weaponising 200 years of under used industrial heritage. Essentially, every town in the US and Europe will have small and old workshops, warehouses, judged too small for building at scale, which is Henry Ford's view. Additive manufacturing means you build products specific to the local market efficiently, with little needed in terms of a workforce, very little actual tooling (the IP exists in the commands sent to the 3D printer). You have no need to transport product large distances, you build product where your customers are.

Life often imitates art, and the film Minority Report illustrated the concept brilliantly during an action sequence set in a downtown Lexus microfactory.

US Inc, UK Plc, Germany GmBh etc compete through manufacturing innovation.

Singapore reality

Additive manufacturing also means you protect your IP. There is little to nothing in the way of tooling for someone to copy. The IP lies in the instructions delivered remotely to the 3D printers, and those can be bricked at the flip of a switch. You can also produce a much more varied mix of products with a single set of machines.

Maybe the US doesn't value its natural environment or localisation as much, but countries with much longer histories do value what they have left. Reusing existing infrastructure, rather than more sprawling brownfield sites in some sort of race to the bottom seems more attractive.

EU Per capita GDP: ~$47K

Sad but true, I love 8 cylinders. Ride like a dream, built for safety. I always used to say I was using up the oil so they'd have to find alternatives. That was 40 years ago...

Odd. I'm driving a made in USA car that has no crappy wood, handles quite well, isn't rotting and really I am quite happy with it. BMW would be disappointed if you didn't think they make good cars.

This highlights the problem of globalization.

The Corvette is a terrible car for the category. Only brought by old divorced geezers in denim shorts and NB sneakers. No one buys these things except Americans. Its made of plastic, with a truck engine, and a leaf spring.

I do not drive a Chinese car. Why, are you in the market for one? Maybe one of those Buicks made in China.

Well, probably not hard to improve on your Pinto/Vega/Aztek/Avalanche/Cimarron/Pacifica/HHR <deleted>wagon you had before.

What your clever stat doesn't show is that Afrikaaner Apartheid boy Musk has all your money, plus he's <deleted> your birds (what's he up to, 12 wifelets so far?), and Pedro has <deleted> all. Income disparity in the US is criminal. 2 million of you consider that rusty American car to be a roof over your head. And you are proud of that.

You're the former American who ran away from a war, despite the fact you probably were never going to get drafted, because of too high a number. Ended up in Australia, where you ended up in trouble over Ecstasy (innocent probably) before moving/fleeing to Thailand.

How many cylinders a car has does not denote ride comfort nor safety, so I assume in your years on the run from the law, you turn out to know <deleted> all about cars. No Volvo had anything more than 6 cylinders. 40 years ago, wasn't that about when you were begging for forgiveness and getting a pardon?

How your "safe" traditional American V8 fares against a modern car, the 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, itself based on the German designed Opel Vectra. The American car is an absolute death trap.

I actually do drive a v8 saloon, but its not a wanky American car, its not old. Not German either, Motor out of an Aston Martin. I've done a lot of sprints and hillclimbs, still hold a race licence. Been around cars a bit.

Mustang, El Camino, Ranchero, Dodge Supercab are my faves.

Who could forget the DeLorean!

There are foreign cars I like, too, but nothing beats a V8! Vrooooooommmmm! (Sorry, Greta!)

Real American cars were built of steel, ergo, much safer. I traveled much of the backroads in the US and Mexico. Those V8s got me there. You're right, I do know <deleted>-all about cars. I just know what I like to drive if I had my druthers. Differs for all of us.

Nobody had to "beg" for a pardon nor did I let my indictment impede my travel to the US. Jimmy Carter's first act in office. I simply preferred Canada to the US.

Glod Bless America just didn't suit me. I was acquitted for the Ecstasy import. Judge was talking about two life sentences without parole!

We all have a life story, don't we? What's yours?

Not the old ones.

Come to think of it, I like driving a car that feels like my living room. Only old American cars do that, except maybe Rolls-Royce. (I'd need a driver!)

what about the billions and more billions that Trump claimed Apple was supposed to invest in the USA... I am not talking about commit, just real investment

What Apple has NOT built under Trump (despite claims)
No iPhone factory
There is zero evidence of Apple building an iPhone assembly plant in the U.S. during Trump’s current presidency.

No large-scale Foxconn‑style assembly plant
No new large-scale device assembly lines (iPhone, iPad, MacBook) have been built.

No U.S. relocation of mass production
As of 2026, 90%+ of iPhones are still made in China, consistent with BBC reporting.

📌 So what did Trump claim?
Trump has repeatedly said Apple would “build factories in the U.S.”
The factual reality: Apple expanded component manufacturing and server/Mac mini assembly, but did not build the type of factories Trump implied (iPhone assembly plants).

So, Apple built factories, which is what Trump said, per your quote.

Do you have any idea how long it takes to "build a factory" in the United States?
