Thai Human Rights Stalemate: Arrests and Restrictions Worry US

Yes, it's 100% ONLY about Thailand...no other country.

No, it is about the US Human Rights Report and Thailand's inclusion on it. It even mentions the US in the heading. So it is entirely justified to point out the US hypocrisy in publishing this list.

You don't get to control what parts of the topic people can comment on.

Hypocrites. They should "worry" more about the mass killing and slow starvation that is being inflicted on the Palestinians by Israel.

  • Of course there's been no arbitrary arrests, detentions or deportations in the good old US, has there?  Hypercritical some what.

A report yes...still nothing to do with human rights in the US...NOTHING.

Why do some people want to turn anything negative about Thailand, in something negative about the US... are you all brain damaged...take your agenda somewhere else.

Anyway, never mind, you keep barking up your own particular tree!

From what I've heard they haven't been all that critical of El Salvador either for some reason. There was another country,  possibly Russia,  that they've gone easy on as well.

No argument about what country is being discussed, however the majority of comments being made are about its hypocritical content.

Wrong. Everything to do with the US, as you really need to consider the source -- and the source under new management -- to render any valid conclusions about the report.

Quote

This year's report, released on August 12, 2025, is notably shorter than previous editions and strategically omits entire categories of human rights violations that were routinely documented under previous administrations.

The changes are not subtle—they represent a fundamental shift in how the US presents itself as a global human rights monitor.

What if.........

Thai Human Rights Stalemate: Arrests and Restrictions Worry PRC

The latest global human rights report from the CCP Ministry of Human Rights depicts a stagnant situation in Thailand, noting that no significant changes were observed in the 2024 review. International concerns persist over arbitrary arrests and detentions that circumvent legal protocols.

now, discuss ONLY what....nothing else?

Eminating from a country that currently doesn't practice what they like to preach.

I'm pretty sure that directly accusing people of stupidity, and of being a brainless fool are in breach of the forum guides?

Only what is clearly in the article....just to remind you., it's about human rights abuse IN Thailand... nowhere else...is that simple enough to understand.

Mate, all I want is a discussion on what the article is about, and it is NOT about global human rights abuse...is that clear enough.

You could be right, but surely going off topic is also. By the way, have you seen some comments referring to me... But hey, I am not a sensitive petal...are you.

The USA is the last country that should tell other countries what human rights are all about!:coffee1:

Still irrelevant to this, do you have a problem understanding this very simple things...if you want to discuss your own anti taco agenda, the start your own thread..simple, I am surprised you haven't thought of it, so I am here to help you.

It's not your OP, do you get that? It is an article about the USA putting out a hypocritical list. If you don't want to discuss that part of it then don't, but stop antagonising everyone else who does want to discuss that blatant hypocrisy as it is relevant to the article. If people go off topic the mods usually step in and bring it back. None have. You are not one.

If someone wants to discuss the Thai human rights aspect of the article and that alone then you'll have a friend to play with, but until then let the adults discuss which aspects of the story they would like and stop being a childish pain in the neck.
