A 25-year-old man suffering from mental health issues caused a disturbance in Mu 7, Tambon Pang Ngiu, Mueang District, Ang Thong Province, on the morning of 26 August. The man, identified only as Mr Pu, was reportedly armed with a machete and behaving violently, threatening and attempting to attack, people and vehicles, along the irrigation canal road.

Police were alerted to the incident at 09:00 and rushed to the scene, equipped with riot shields, batons and a Taser. Upon arrival, they found Mr Pu throwing large stones across the road, posing a risk to passing motorists and local residents.

Despite the apparent danger police approached Mr Pu, who surrendered almost immediately. Witnesses reported that he threw his machete into the ditch, raised his hands and lay down on the ground, allowing officers to take him into custody without further incident.

He was subsequently transported to Ang Thong Hospital for medical treatment. Local residents expressed relief at the swift and peaceful resolution of the potentially dangerous situation.

Where is a Thai with a gun when you need him?

Cops have better things to do.
