BREAKING NEWS Thaksin Sentenced to 1 Year in Prison Over Hospital Leave Case
If he gets house arrest that will dilute a lot of the public sympathy. He needs to be seen in prison gear to really regain popularity. Note both Thaksin and Paetongtarn had prepared speeches to wheel out immediately post conviction. As if they knew the chances of conviction were high. -

Thanks for sharing that. Not at all surprised. South Korea is a rich country so I would expect South Korean companies to outsource factory jobs. As said before my issue with phones from Chinese owned companies is mostly about the Chinese government not the build quality of their products. -

On the street view of whats really going on in the UK right now
I think swamping the country with flags could have....kind of.....have a positive effect. It could dilute or take away that racist element associated with the flags and bring them back into mainstream usage without people being fearful of the tag??????? -

BREAKING NEWS Thaksin Sentenced to 1 Year in Prison Over Hospital Leave Case
I don't think so... I think even in Thailand, "Supreme Court" is as high as it gets in the court system. That said, I think the Corrections Dept. has some latitude in how long he might actually serve, and where he serves it, assuming he does. Of course, one can never rule out that as soon as he's actually jail, assuming he ever is, that some "new" medical issue might arise that would lead to him once again being hospitalized somewhere.... instead of serving time in a regular custody setting. But any ploy like that a second time round is likely to get immediate and intense scrutiny. Anyone taking bets?
