Do a quick foot soak in warm water. Wear socks to sleep. Warming the extremities before bed has been shown to help people fall asleep more quickly. It does so as well as many over-the-counter sleep aids. “It’s a natural sleep medication,” said William Wisden, a professor at Imperial College London who studies how nerve cells signal sleep. Many animals — humans included — “nest” in preparation for sleep to create a warm microenvironment surrounding their bodies, whether by curling up, wrapping themselves in bedding or donning fuzzy socks. “Having warm skin, especially hands and feet, induces drowsiness,” Wisden said. I tried this with socks but I don't own any heavy socks and my light socks didn't seem to have an effect. Plan on trying the soak feet in warm water method next.

Now, you want me to wear heavy wool socks to bed after soaking them in steaming water? Also, I sleep with a heavy duvet, and that keeps me warm enough. If you want to sleep better... Turn down the AC to about 19-degrees C, and use a quilt to keep warm. Even 18-degrees is OK.
