Two overseas Filipino workers, Imee Mahilum Pabuaya, 24, and Aleli Perez Tibay, 33, have been reported missing in Hong Kong, as confirmed by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW). The women were last seen on October 4 in the Tsuen Wan District. An active investigation involving the Philippine Consulate General, the Hong Kong Police Force, and the Hong Kong Immigration Department is currently underway to locate them.

The DMW has emphasized the importance of public assistance in the search for the missing workers. They urge anyone with information to contact the Philippine Consulate or the Hong Kong Migrant Workers’ Office. "Every tip, photo, or detail could be an important key to immediately finding them," the DMW stated, appealing for community support in the search efforts.

Pabuaya and Tibay's disappearance has raised concerns among the Filipino community and their families, who are being assisted by the DMW. The department assures that efforts are being made to support the families through this difficult time, maintaining communication and offering necessary resources. The situation underscores the vulnerability and challenges faced by overseas workers.

Looking forward, the focus remains on intensifying the search and investigation processes, with hopes of a swift resolution. Authorities continue to gather information from the public and analyze potential leads that may aid in locating the missing individuals. The case has highlighted the importance of safeguarding the welfare of migrant workers abroad.

Key Takeaways:

  • Two Filipino workers went missing in Hong Kong on October 4.
  • Authorities are actively investigating, seeking public assistance.
