Trump Declares Intent to ‘Kill’ Hamas if Gaza Violence Continues

President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Hamas on Thursday, asserting that should the group persist in violence within Gaza, decisive action would follow. This marks a significant escalation in his rhetoric as he attempts to uphold a ceasefire agreement with Israel amidst increasing tensions.

The ultimatum by Trump came just three days post the signing of a ceasefire in the Middle East. Reports suggest Hamas has utilized the truce to reassert control over the Gaza Strip harshly, targeting Palestinians suspected of collaborating with Israeli forces. Trump's message on Truth Social was unambiguous: “If Hamas continues to kill people in Gaza, which was not the Deal, we will have no choice but to go in and kill them.”

Further clarifying his stance, Trump stated that American forces would not lead the proposed offensive. From the Oval Office, he remarked, “There are people very close, very nearby that will go and they’ll do the trick very easily, but under our auspices.”

Initially, Trump seemed optimistic about maintaining peace after the ceasefire. He declared that the war was “over” and dismissed early incidents of Hamas’s crackdown in Gaza. However, his tone toughened following reports of ongoing violence, indicating support for Israeli action if necessary.

Israel has accused Hamas of breaching the ceasefire due to delays in returning deceased hostages. Trump hinted that the situation could quickly reignite, telling CNN’s Jake Tapper that the war could resume “as soon as I say the word.” While Trump showed some tolerance towards initial actions by Hamas, he underscored that the group must disarm or face consequences.

Following a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump voiced confidence in the ceasefire’s viability, but reiterated a stern warning: “If they don’t behave, we’ll take care of it.” This indicates continued pressure on Hamas to adhere to its commitments.

Key Takeaways

  • Trump warns Hamas of consequences if violence in Gaza persists.
  • Initial optimism following ceasefire gives way to tougher rhetoric.
  • US forces will not be directly involved, but Israel may resume action.

I am sure there are Arab countries that would be willing to make Gaza a peaceful place especially if they are responsible for the reno costs

What does Trump not understand?

Gaza and the West Bank belong to the Palestinians, NOT to Israel and certainly NOT to the USA.

For decades, under both the gop and the democrats, the USA has been fuelling and funding the war.

It is years and decades past the time that they should have stopped doing it.

If countries, NOT JUST THE U.S., stopped funding wars, you may see a lot of them stop.

Iran makes a boatload of money from Hamas and other groups.  Same as Russia.  Imagine if there were an embargo on sending weapons into Africa.

As Hamas has shown, this is ot a battle over land; it is simply a group that does not want to give up power, and the only way it stays relevant is to continue to fight.  When it can't fight Israel, you notice that it starts fighting its own people.

Until the Palestinian people stand up and say enough and ask for Arab Egyptian help to remove them, as well as Iran stops funding and supplying them there is never going to be peace.

One has to imagine what would happen if Israel decided to move, what would Hamas do with no one to fight.
