A Nigerian resident in Thailand, known locally as “Diamond,” staged a symbolic ceremony, on 21 October 2025, in Nong Jan, Non Mak Mun subdistrict, Khok Sung district, Sa Kaeo province, involving a clay pot and a Cambodian influencer called “Bak Boy.” The act drew laughter and engagement from local residents while showing support for Thai military personnel stationed along the Thai-Cambodian border.

The event took place amid ongoing security measures by the Eastern Force at the former Cambodian refugee centre in the area. Diamond, who often participates in local community activities, aimed the symbolic gesture at Bak Boy, who had previously posted content on social media challenging Thailand and making critical remarks about the country.

During the ceremony, Diamond placed an image of Bak Boy on a pair of sandals and enacted a ritual “pushing Bak Boy into a clay pot,” attracting the attention of the public. He emphasised that the ceremony was intended solely for entertainment and morale-boosting purposes, not to provoke any international conflict, stating, “I hope Bak Boy sees this clip.”

While largely symbolic, the event added a lighter moment to an otherwise tense border situation. It highlights the connection between local communities and military forces, showing how cultural or symbolic gestures can be used to foster morale and public engagement.
