A Lao worker was beaten to death by a Thai cattle herder following a violent dispute over grazing rights in Nakhon Pathom Province. The fatal incident occurred on 23 October 2025 along a roadside in Moo 5, Tha Phraya Subdistrict, Nakhon Chai Si District. Police from Nakhon Chai Si Station and forensic officers found the victim dead at the scene with severe head injuries.

The victim was identified as Mr. Seng Saeng Arun, 53, a Lao national employed as a caretaker at a local shrimp and fish pond. He was found lying face-up in a pool of blood, with multiple wounds to his head and face. Nearby, police recovered a wool hat and electrical wire believed to belong to the victim.

Investigators swiftly tracked down the suspect, identified as Mr. Thawatchai Pinthong, 54, a local cattle herder. He was arrested near his home in Bang Rakam Subdistrict after fleeing the scene on a motorcycle. Police seized a one-metre bamboo stick used in the assault, which was hidden in nearby grass and stained with blood.

According to initial police findings, the two men had a long-standing feud over the cattle entering and damaging the shrimp ponds. On the day of the incident, they reportedly argued again, which escalated into a physical fight. Mr. Thawatchai allegedly struck the victim repeatedly until he collapsed and died at the scene.

Police have charged the suspect with murder and are preparing to forward the case for prosecution. The victim’s body was sent to Nakhon Pathom Hospital for autopsy to confirm the cause of death before being released to relatives for funeral arrangements.
