I am currently in BKK....I have a Thai musical instrument that I play and would like to take back to the UK.

The main help I need is:

1. Does anyone know if the airlines (Thai) allow for well packaged fragile items to be transported as extra luggage, if not hand luggage. 12kgs total and about 1 metre long. If so.....is there a figure that springs to mind. I have contacted them but they are less than cooperative...but I don't want any problems or surprises at the airport.....although I often see people walk on with guitars and the like.

2. Is there a reliable, cost effective and caring courier company that anyone can recommend??....DHL are not too keen....and UPS said it was too big for them!!!?
