October 31, 2025Oct 31 I am looking for a quality air con installer. As you can see from my question I asked if his team uses torque wrenches and micron gauges. However, I don't fully understand the answer:"We only use quality tools" Did he try to avoid answering?
October 31, 2025Oct 31 How much is he charging 3k baht? quality tools is all he said, probably from mr DIY 😆
October 31, 2025Oct 31 If you are a falang, you will get overcharged no matter what. Even if you have a Thai wife or G/F around as the installers can immediately see a swanky house with falang money. And of course for those who are displaying the latest BMW or Tesla in the front yard, don't complain if the installer cheats and overcharges. The thing to do is to harshly bargain. If the installers says no, fine refuse. And if you live in areas like Hua Hin or Phuket where overcharging is a national sport, then don't hesitate...if you can, bring in the installers from either Bangkok or Pattaya where they charge far less.

I found a company from Youtube who does quality installs, but they only supply and fit. They want 21,500 fitted, i can buy the unit for 13,500! s0, 8k for install.

I live to the East of Bangkok and usually pay the local rate as i don't have a swanky house or new car in the yard. But, you are correct as i need to bring in contactors from Bangkok as they generally work to a higher standard.
